 | Ex-sheriff Russ Cook found dead |
Russ Cook, the former Jefferson County sheriff whose life spiraled downward in a fog of alcohol and allegations of stalking, has died. He was 59 .
Cook was found dead Friday morning in his home in south Jefferson County, sheriff's department spokesman Jim Shires said.
A family member had asked sheriff's deputies to check Cook's home because he hadn't been seen or heard from in several days, Shires said.

 | Missing Brighton woman's body found |
Brighton police have recovered the body of a missing woman and are investigating her death as a homicide.
Authorities identified the dead woman as Tanya Ealey, 32, who reportedly was last seen leaving her job in Wheat Ridge about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
She was reported missing about noon Wednesday, and a police officer found her body about 8 p.m. Thursday in a home at 258 S. 12th St, said Brighton police spokesman John Bradley.

 | Man arrested after allegedly smoking pot at 'Porn' movie |
A 19-year-old man now faces a charge of possession of marijuana after a movie theater patron reported a group of teens smoking pot in the back of a Basalt theater.
Basalt police questioned the four teens Nov. 14 during a screening of the romantic comedy "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" at the Movieland theater.
Authorities say the 19-year-old confessed to having marijuana, and was arrested for possessing less than an ounce of the drug.

 | Police keep quiet on Nov. 5 slayings in east Denver |
The gunshot-riddled bodies on Syracuse and Elm streets, unnamed but not forgotten, remain shrouded in mystery.
Denver's chief deputy coroner said this morning that a court order requested by Denver police is preventing her office from revealing the IDs of the dead men, whose bodies were found 2 1/2 weeks ago, two miles and four hours apart.
Denver police only say that the investigation into the homicides could be compromised if the public knew the names of the victims.

 | Passenger shot on RTD bus |
A dispute between two RTD bus passengers Thursday night ended with one of them pulling a gun and shooting the other in the leg.
"The victim was taken to Denver Health Medical Center" with injuries that weren't life-threatening, Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said today.
The suspect fled the scene near Kalamath Street and West Colfax Avenue.

 | Lakewood cops ID man shot at Wal-Mart |
Lakewood police have identified the man shot Wednesday in a Wal-Mart parking lot as Shawn Patrick Brndiar, 33. Police had been called about a man who was acting suspiciously.
Brndiar - who police said is 6-foot-8 and weighs 250 pounds - allegedly grabbed a Taser from a police officer, zapped her with it, and then was shot by the officer's partner.
Brndiar was hospitalized for treatment. He will be transferred to the Jefferson County jail when he is released, police said.

 | Grand Junction massage parlor owner arrested on prostitution charges |
The owner of a Grand Junction massage parlor has been arrested on multiple charges, including pimping and keeping a place of prostitution.
Police say the arrest of 58-year-old Nan O'Reilly was the result of a 10-month investigation. O'Reilly has owned and operated Fuji Oriental Therapy Massage for the past 14 years.
She faces four felony charges - racketeering, pimping, tax evasion and keeping a place of prostitution - along with a misdemeanor charge of promoting sexual immorality.

 | Two killed at Trinidad bar; police searching for four people |
Police were searching for four people of interest in a shooting at a bar that left two people dead.
Trinidad Police Chief Charles Glorioso said there were six patrons at the Hollywood Bar, including the two who died around last call early Thursday. They were playing foosball shortly before shots rang out.
Killed were 21-year-old Benjamin Griego, who died at the scene, and 31-year-old Clifford Maes, who died at a hospital.

 | Apparent illegal alien suspected of attempted murder at trailer park |
Larimer County Sheriff's deputies are looking for an apparent illegal alien suspected of attempted first-degree murder in a shooting incident at a mobile home park.
Deputies say that at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday a black pickup pulled up in front of a residence at the Poudre Valley Mobile Home Park at 2025 No. College in Fort Collins.
A man got out of the truck, raised a 9mm handgun and fired at two men, 35 and 25 years old, who'd been sitting on the front porch but who had run for cover inside the home.

 | Brighton woman's disappearance may be suspicious |
A Brighton woman who has been missing for four days may have disappeared under suspicious circumstances, and Brighton police are asking for the public's help.
Tanya Ealey, 32, was last seen leaving her job in Wheat Ridge on Monday about 6:30 in the evening, say Brighton police.
She is about 5-foot-7 and weighs about 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She is not a suspect in any crime.
